As I was a year ago to the day, I’ve been spending the day watching the snooker world championship. Both I & Stephen Fry seemed far more interested in what was happening on a snooker table then some royal procession which was happening on the Mall.

So it’s exactly a year on since Wills & Kate got hitched at the expense of the taxpayers & economic growth.

I should declare my bias before I proceed any further with this rant; fuck Wills & Kate, fuck the royal family, viva the republic! The very notion of a monarchy having a role in governing a modern liberal democracy that values meritocracy is an anathema at the very notion that Britain is a modern liberal democracy that values meritocracy. No person should have a automatic right to govern just because they were born with the right silver spoon in their mouth or wore the right school tie, no person should have the hereditary right to govern because they were born into the right family.

We were told by the government that the royal weeding of Wills & Kate would help boost economic growth, when in fact economic growth declined in the second quarter of last year & two government reports have cites the royal wedding as a contributing factor to a fall in economic growth. We were told that the royal wedding of Wills & Kate would boost economic growth when in fact it contributed to scuppering economic growth & now the government is telling us that the Olympics & of course the Jubilee will help boost the economy.

Its actually been proven by the likes of the Economist magazine that all that bullshit you get from royalists about how the royal family attracts tourism is in fact bullshit. Even if the royal family do attract tourists to this country the royal family should be run like any other tourist attraction & not have the right to govern over us all because they’re the family Windsor. If Madame Tussauds gets more visitors then Buckingham Palace should the wac works there have the hereditary right to governance unaccountable to the electorate which the family Windsor has?

If the wedding of Tracy & Tracy Chav cost the taxpayer £50,000 then it would be splashed across the front page of the Daily Mail & there’d be Tories livid about the expense to the taxpayer & yet you heard no objections from any fiscal-conservative at the £50million plus the government spent on the wedding of Wills & Kate. As well all know Tories love to bash a welfare recipient & yet will defend the royal family who are the most costly welfare recipients of all!

Its bad enough that you have Tories telling disabled people that they’re going to have to go without much needed support for crucial day to day needs; but its stomach wrenching that the Tories then can still be wanting to spend millions on queen Liz & the family Windsor. The Tories are okay with spending millions on queen Liz & family having butlers to wipe their arses & put toothpaste on a toothbrush for them, but not okay with paying somebody minimum wage so that some disabled person doesn’t starve. What a fucked up nation we are if the majority think its okay for the government to protect the privileged whilst the vulnerable starve.

Of course royalists tell you that the royals aren’t welfare spongers but work damn hard for this country; yeah because wearing gowns & going to banquets is such hard work! Yeah it must be exhausting for the royals when the butler is off sick & they have to wipe their own arse.

There is to be the Jubilee soon enough & the ignorant masses will be brainwashed into the whole spin the corporate elite will have spun about how the monarchy helps brings the country together blah bullshit blah. Our corporatist overlords like the monarchy because it helps to distract & distort things to their own advantage. Collectivise people by brainwashing them with the odour of nationalism, they then will set about lynching those who speak out of turn for being supposedly ‘unpatriotic’, despite the fact its those who are denounced as ‘unpatriotic’ who speak up for the little man & against the privileged who shit upon them.
