Afghanistan - Another British RAF soldier  has died in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Illegal Wars said. The airman died in explosion during patrol at main UK base in Helmand province.

The soldier served with the 34 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment, died while on patrol at Camp Bastion, the main UK base in Helmand province, yesterday afternoon.

Next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 219^th, and the 82^nd this year.

Lieutenant Colonel Nick Richardson, said. "The death of this courageous Royal Air Force Regiment gunner is a true loss.

"We know that whilst our loss is heartfelt, it is nothing compared to the sorrow of his family, to whom we extend our deepest sympathies."
