Andy Hayman the former head of the Counter Terrorist division at Scotland yard has book out entitled The Terrorist Hunters giving an account of his time in charge of the Counter Terrorism Division.

It was Hayman who was in charge of counter terrorism when Charles de Menezes was shot dead by officers under his supervision.

Of course people will be aware that Charles de Menezes was mistaken for a suicide bomber in the hysteria that followed the 7/7 bombing in London. Hayman still maintains that they were acting on what they thought was reliable information & that it was all a tragic mistake. Oh doesn’t it fill you confidence that what the police consider to be ‘reliable information’ resulted in the shooting of innocent man.

One of the law & order types told me that de Menezes wasn’t innocent he was an illegal immigrant. Jesus fucking Christ just because somebody wasn’t born on the right side of some geopolitical border he deserves to be shot. Oh right everybody is now adopting the mentality of Gary Bushel & Nick Griffin that immigrants deserve all they get including a bullet in the head. Another law & order type said to me on the issue of  de Menezes that if he were innocent why did he run away from the police…maybe because he was shit scared as he was being chased by an armed group of men who he had no idea were police. Of course many will no doubt say that in the defence of this country accidents unfortunately will happen & that you can’t make an omelette without cracking some eggs.

What if you are you are one the eggs that get broken, yeah what if a bunch of anti terrorist police start chasing you because police are acting on ‘reliable information’ that you’re a terrorist, what if you’re shot dead because the police seriously fucked up. I all seriousness if it can happen to Charles de Menezes then it can happen to you because you can’t be sure anybody you might know is police informer who doesn’t like the shape of your face, how do you know a friend of yours isn’t phoning some police tittle-tattle line because they took offence that you forgot to send them a Xmas card. In fact how do you know what the police class as ‘reliable information’ because its pretty obvious from the shooting of Charles de Menezes & other incidents that what the police considered to be ‘reliable information’ wasn’t in fact that reliable & it really doesn’t give one great confidence in the police.

Charles de Menezes was innocent of being a terrorist who was shot because of police incompetence & Andy Hayman was the man in charge & therefore was responsible as he gave the order & should at least be prison for manslaughter if not murder. Okay none of the thugs with guns are going to be punished for their incompetence because the government has seen to that, but at least Hayman could apologise & keep on apologising for the incompetence of the officers he was in charge of & that he was ultimately responsible.
