UK - A man who blew up a speed camera has been jailed for four months. Craig Moore, 28, of Grampian Way in Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, admitted blowing up the speed camera that had flashed him last month, with thermite.

Thermite, a mixture of aluminum and iron oxide powders, burns at 2500 degrees centigrade, is used to weld the steel rails together on the railways.

While blowing up speed cameras is a socially acceptable, what makes Craig qualify for twat of the week is:

• That the speed camera that he destroyed was a Watchman camera - used to deter drivers from speeding by flashing, and which cannot be used to prosecute drivers.
• He went back in his company Ford Transit van to the speed camera, which recorded his arrival and number plate on its hard disk.
• The Camera recorded his departure, just before the thermite exploded.
• The Ford Transit van was fitted with a tracker device, which recorded Craig’s nocturnal escapade.
