UK - It an amusing observation, that not since the 1936 Berlin Olympics, have we seen so many men in uniform at an Olympic games.
This comes on top of the scandal of there being so many empty seats. Time and time again when the television cameras turn to the crown there are huge blocks of seats that are empty.
That these seats are so called corporate seats, which are either unsold or the owners of the tickets simply cannot be bothered to turn up at, is a national scandal.
The London 2012 Olympic organisers solution, to allocate them to members of the military to use them. The very same members of the military who have been drafted in to cover the short comings of G4S. The private contractor charged with providing security for the London 2012
A far better solution, would be to give the owners of the empty seats until the start of the game, or games at the venue. Then start selling tickets at the door to anyone who is queueing on the off chance.
If the owner of the seat arrives late, well tough.
