283 British service personnel have been killed on operations in Afghanistan since 2001, and the 38th this year

Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of another British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary for US Oil companies.
The soldier from 21 Engineer Regiment Group serving as part of Task Force Helmand during the morning of 3 May 2010.
The soldier was killed in an explosion that happened near Patrol Base Pimon, in Nad-e Ali, Helmand Province.
The soldier's next of kin have been informed.
The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 283, and the 38th this year.
Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel James Carr-Smith, said:
"It is my sad duty to inform you that a soldier from 21 Engineer Regiment was killed this morning in Nad-e Ali, Helmand.
"He was travelling to meet up with local Afghan contractors prior to continuing with reconstruction programmes when he was killed in an explosion.
"He died seeking to improve the lives of the people of Helmand Province. His sacrifice will not be forgotten."
