Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of another British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary for US Oil companies.

The Royal Marine from 40 Commando Royal  Marine from 40 Commando Royal Marines, serving as part of Combined Force Sangin, this morning, Wednesday 2 June 2010.

The Royal Marine was killed in an explosion in the Sangin district of Helmand province.

He was undertaking a joint foot patrol with soldiers from the Afghan National Army in order to reassure the local population when the incident took place

The soldier's next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 290, and the 45^th this year.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel James Carr-Smith, said:

"It is with sadness I must inform you that a Marine from 40 Commando Royal Marines was killed in Sangin this morning by an explosion.

"He was on a foot patrol with his fellow Marines and Afghan National Army soldiers when he was struck by an explosion.

"He died in the course of his duty seeking to improve the lives of the people of Sangin.

"His courage in the face of danger will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed and we will always remember him."
