Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of another British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary for US Oil companies.

The soldier from 21 Engineer Regiment was killed in Afghanistan on Friday 13 August 2010.

The soldier, serving as part of Combined Force Sangin, was killed by small arms fire in the Sangin district of Helmand province.

Next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 330, and the 84^th this year.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel David Southall, said:

"It is with deep sorrow I must inform you that a soldier from 21 Engineer Regiment was killed this morning in Sangin, Helmand province. He was shot by small arms fire whilst supporting the 40 Commando Royal Marines Battle Group.

"He died a Sapper, doing his duty amongst his comrades as he sought to improve security for the people of Afghanistan. His courage and sacrifice will not be forgotten."
