Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of another British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary for US Oil companies.

The soldier from the Queen's Gurkha Engineers, serving with 21 Engineer Regiment, was killed in Afghanistan on Friday 13 August 2010.

The solder was killed by small arms fire in the Nad-e Ali District of Helmand province.

Next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 331, and the 85^th this year.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel David Southall, said:

"It is my sad duty to inform you that a soldier from the Queen's Gurkha Engineers, serving with 21 Engineer Regiment, was killed this afternoon in Nad-e Ali (North), Helmand province.

"Part of a sapper team rebuilding the security infrastructure in support of 2nd Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Battle Group, he was engaged and killed by small arms fire. Selfless to the end, he gave his life whilst supporting others. His sacrifice will not be forgotten."
