Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of another British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary for US Oil companies.

The soldier from the 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, part of Combined Force Nad-e Ali, was killed in Afghanistan on Saturday 21 August 2010.

The soldier was killed during an exchange of fire with insurgents in the Nad-e Ali District of Helmand Province.

Next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 332, and the 86^th this year.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel James Carr-Smith, said:

"It is with deep sorrow I must inform you that a soldier from the 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment was killed this morning in southern Nad-e Ali.

"He was part of a security cordon that was providing protection to enable a meeting to take place between local elders and ISAF and Afghan Troops when he was killed by small arms fire.

"He died in the course of his duty. He will be sorely missed and his actions will not be forgotten. We will remember him."
