Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of another British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary's for US Oil companies.

A soldier  from 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment was killed in Afghanistan today, Sunday 14 November 2010.

The soldier, serving as part of Combined Force Nad 'Ali (South), was killed as a result of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device blast in the southern Nad 'Ali area of Helmand province.

Next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 344, and the 98^th this year.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel David Eastman, said:

"It is with a heavy heart that I must report the loss of a soldier from 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment this morning. The soldier was part of a patrol providing security and a reassuring presence for the people of Nad 'Ali when he was hit by an improvised explosive device.

"On this day of all days, his loss feels especially poignant and, as with all of our brave, fallen comrades, will be forever marked in our thoughts; he will be sorely missed."
