Afghanistan - The ministry of Illegal Wars has announced the death of the 102^nd British serviceman whilst being used as mercenary's for US Oil companies.

A soldier from 23 Pioneer Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps, serving with the Counter-Improvised Explosive Device Task Force, was killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday 28 December 2010.

The soldier died as the result of an explosion caused by an Improvised Explosive Device whilst he was conducting the clearance of a road in Lashkar Gah district, Helmand Province.

Next of kin have been informed.

The latest death takes the number of British service personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001 to 348, and the 102^th this year.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel David Eastman, said:

"Sadly, I must report the death of a soldier from 23 Pioneer Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, working with the Counter-Improvised Explosive Device Task Force, this afternoon.

"The soldier was participating in an operation to clear an area of north of Lashkar Gah, when an improvised explosive device was initiated.

"As a member of the Counter-IED Task Force he was at the very forefront of the fight against terrorism, and gave his all to make a better, more secure life for the people of Afghanistan and our own nation.

"His loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him, and our thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this sad time."
